Not all publishing professionals are built the same. Here’s what makes me stand out from the crowd.
I offer you:
- Perfect handovers every time. I worked as a production editor at Oxford University Press for more than five years. I can deliver what editors, designers, and other team members really want when they receive a handover: all the parts together, on time, labelled correctly, and in the best possible shape.
- A safeguard for your reputation. I can help you ensure that your text is inclusive and that it aligns with the values you want to convey. I’ll also pick up on any faux pas or embarrassing mistakes. I have specialist knowledge and lived experience of neurodivergence, mental ill-health, and LGBTQ+ issues, as well as professional experience of reading for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Attention to the technical details. I excel in the technical and design aspects of my work. I’m a natural at picking up new software tools on the job, and I have an array of sought-after skills in my toolbox, including powerful wildcard searches, precise formatting and styling, and elegant, accessible document design.
- Experience beyond publishing. I spent the latter seven years of my employed career as a technical writer, staff trainer, and equity, diversity, and inclusion professional. Writing and editing have always been integral to my everyday work; meanwhile, I have also been busy managing complex projects, creating accessible content, and producing instructional materials.
